Lahore 06 April. Director General Population Welfare and Chief Executive PPIF Saman Roy has said that the Department of Population Welfare Punjab has written its name in golden letters in history by getting the best results from the progress in family planning efforts. It continues to make significant progress in its mission to promote family planning and reproductive health across the region. She said that with more than 11 million eligible couples enrolled since the department’s inception, the department’s outreach efforts and commitment to awareness are evident. Last month alone, 409,905 couples were given contraceptives, while 4,400 surgeries were performed at family health clinics.
Additionally, 266,920 couples have been protected by contraception. She said that apart from reproductive health based on the best strategy across the province, the department treated 207,803 general patients, while ensuring strict monitoring accountability with 100% monthly visits to service delivery outlets. The efforts of all department officers and field staff reflect a comprehensive approach to public health and population control.
