Punjab Police’s special campaign against metal strings and kite flying continue across the province.
On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a special campaign against metal strings and kite flying is going on in the entire province of Punjab Police, Police teams has accelerated the crackdown under zero tolerance against the accused involved in dangerous sports and business. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the last 24 hours, 26 accused were arrested while registering 27 cases under the Kite Flying Act across the province, 2052 kites and 33 string wheels were recovered from the possession of the accused. Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the last 35 days, 3496 cases were registered and 3629 accused were arrested under the Anti-Kite Flying Act across the province including Lahore, 219513 kites and 14726 string wheels were recovered from the possession of the accused.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the supervisory officers to speed up the crackdown against metal strings and kites. IGP Punjab said that actions should be continued without discrimination against the manufacture, sale and use of metal strings and kites. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appealed to teachers and parents to stop children from flying kites. IG Punjab said that civil society and community leaders should also play their role in preventing dangerous sport and business.
