Punjab Government Announces Free Solar Panels for Low-Income Households on Independence Day”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a scheme to distribute free solar panels to households consuming up to 200 units of electricity, starting August 14. Those using 200-500 units will get a 10% discount, while the government will bear 90% of the cost for households using up to 500 units. The move aims to reduce electricity bills by 40% and provide relief to the public.
