PRWA HOLDS ANNUAL ELECTIONS

LAHORE: The annual elections of the Public Relations Welfare Association (PRWA) were held successfully, in which new office-bearers of the association were elected unopposed. The chief election commissioner of PRWA, Dr Mustafa Kamal, formally declared Athar Hassan Awan as President, Karamat Ali as General Secretary, and Chaudhary Zulfiqar Ali as Finance Secretary.

The election results were declared by Dr Mustafa Kamal in an Election Ceremony held at Cosmopolitan Club Bagh-e-Jinnah Lahore here on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by senior PRWA members along with various Public relations Practitioners from both public and private organizations.
Addressing the ceremony, the newly elected President of PRWA, Athar Hassan Awan expressed gratitude to Public Relations Welfare Association Chairman Dr. Syed Nadeem Al Hasan Gilani, Chief Election Commissioner Dr Mustafa Kamal, and all honourable members of PRWA. He outlined a comprehensive action plan aimed at enhancing the association’s standing in the field of public relations He shared the names of executive members, and cabinet nominees for the Senior vice president, vice president, joint secretary, and information secretary of PRWA. He assured that the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected office-bearers of PRWA would be arranged soon. He also informed that registration of association, opening of bank account, development of an independent website on the pattern of the Lahore Press Club, issuance of official cards, and MoUs in collaboration with educational institutions and the health sectors for the welfare of members. He stated that efforts to increase membership of PRWA, the constitution of scrutiny committee, and endeavours to acquire land for the association’s office and residential scheme for the members. The PRWA President confirmed that the swearing-in of the new officials would take place soon. He introduced the nominees for Senior Vice President, Vice President, Joint Secretary, and Information Secretary to further the achievement of PRWA’s set goals.
On this occasion, Chairman PRWA Dr Nadeem ul Hassan Gillani also thanked all members for their presence and shared insights into the foundation and brief history of PRWA. He expressed gratitude to interim body members for their individual roles in conducting elections, managing/ launching membership, and coordinating arrangements. He conveyed his wishes for the newly elected officials and urged them they would leave no stone unturned to achieve the PRWA’s goals.
In the end, Senior Vice President Syed Ali Bukhari presented a resolution condemning Israel’s cruelty and brutality against the Palestinians. The entire house unanimously supported the resolution and condemned Israel’s cruelty. The prayers were offered for the martyrs and the wounded, expressing solidarity with those facing oppression in Palestine.
