Provincial Minister Ibrahim Hassan Murad Shows displeasure over non-submission of Chiniot Iron Ore source report
Lahore : Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Ibrahim Hassan Murad said that the Punjab government has entrusted the important responsibility to the Punjab Mineral Company. We all have to move forward with the vision of Punjab government for exploration, development of mines Sector. These views were expressed by the provincial minister while presiding over a meeting of the Department of Mines and Minerals at camp office on Wednesday. CFO Punjab Minerals Company Rana Faisal told the provincial minister during the briefing that seven new points identified in some areas adjacent to Chiniot Iron Ore while It is being identified metallic minerals may be present, but it is yet to be studied. The provincial minister was also shown a presentation on behalf of the company’s representatives, in which the provincial minister was given a detailed briefing about the Chiniot iron ore. The minister showed displeasure, not submitted source report pending till June 2013, directed that a detailed report be submitted within a week. The provincial minister said that in the previous meeting, it was directed that the report of the consultant should be presented. He said that a video link meeting should be arranged with the consultant, however.
Wasting time is not acceptable under any circumstances. Ibrahim Hassan Murad emphasized that the Chief Minister of Punjab has a close eye on the Mines and Minerals sector. Deposits like Chiniot Iron Ore are our valuable assets and the economy is being stabilized with such deposits. In the meeting, DG Mines and Minerals Rana Abdul Shakoor, Representatives of Punjab Minerals Company, PSO Mines and Minerals Shoaib Naseer and related persons participated.
