Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari said that the Holy Sunnah of Nikah can be performed in a very simple and limited way and the specialty of the Sunnah Rasool (SAW) and Islamic teachings is that this Sunnah should be performed with simplicity. However, the blind imitation of social norms has made the performing of this Sunnah extremely difficult and painful for middle class families. The institutions like Mahar Welfare Society Anjuman-ul-Rai Pakistan which are trying to solve this serious social problem at such a crucial time by organizing mass weddings of poor girls with all arrangements and meeting the expenses.
The Provincial Information Minister expressed these views while addressing the mass marriage ceremony of 100 deserving and poor girls under the auspices of Maher Welfare Society Anjuman-ul-Rai Pakistan. Patron-in-Chief Maher Anwar, Central President Mian Sajid Hussain, Central Chairman Sajjad Mushtaq Mehr, Punjab President Chaudhry Tayyab Mehr and other dignitaries with the spirit of public service also participated in the mass wedding ceremony.
The Provincial Information Minister said that marriages with fanfare, display and extravagance are a social issue rather than a political one and the leaders of the society should promote the observance of the Sunnah Rasool (SAW) with simplicity. She said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also issued strict directive for the implementation of One Dish ban and legal action is being taken on violating One Dish ban.
Azma Bokhari said that there is a long list of achievements of the Punjab government in 100 days and sports complexes will be built in 297 provincial constituencies to promote sports in Punjab. Large-scale sports are going to be organized across the province soon. In response to a question, she said that PTI people should fulfill their wish, they did not allow the government to run even when they were in the assemblies. She said that the FIA has summoned PTI people because they are planning to hold the event again on May 9. She said that the founder of PTI used to threaten DG FIA Bashir Memon by calling him to the Prime Minister’s House in order to impose Article 6 on Khawaja Asif and when Article 6 has not been imposed, they have already started crying.
