Provincial Human Rights Minister Khalil Tahir Sandhu’s message on International Women’s Day

Lahore … Provincial Human Rights Minister Khalil Tahir Sandhu issued a statement in connection with International Women’s Day that International Women’s Day makes us realize that considering women as an important part of our society, must ensure the provision of equal rights with the elimination of violence. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government is ensuring the elimination of gender discrimination, protection of women’s rights and social and economic independence of women. He further said that every religion teaches to respect women and ensure protection of their rights. The provincial minister said that effective legislation is being enacted in the Punjab Assembly to protect women’s rights and prevent violence against them. He said that women’s representation is being ensured at all levels and it is an undeniable fact that the role of women in the development of Pakistan is commendable.
