PROTEST ERUPTS IN MIRPUR MATHELO OVER POLICE INACTION IN JOURNALIST’S MURDER CASE

(Corespendent Report)
Mirpur Matheolo, August 25, – A protest rally was organized by nationalist leaders against the registration of cases against political and social activists who were protesting the non-arrest of killers of journalist Nasrullah Godani.

The protesters, including Janid Jalbani and Nisar Bozdar, were booked by the Mirpur Matheolo police under terrorism charges for demanding justice for Godani’s murder. The rally, which started from Bhutto Chowk, turned into a sit-in protest, with participants chanting slogans against the police.

Speaking to the media, leaders Fakir Ramzan Kalhoro, Nasrullah Kaladi, Advocate Abdul Majid Mir Bahar, and Advocate Ammar Dayo condemned the police inaction in arresting Godani’s killers, even after four months. They criticized the police for registering cases against those seeking justice for the slain journalist instead of taking action against the actual perpetrators.

The protesters demanded immediate withdrawal of cases against the activists and arrest of Godani’s killers. The situation remains tense, with further protests expected if demands are not met.
