Various labor organizations and political parties have protested against the imposition of taxes on minerals in Shangla, demanding that the government withdraw its decision. They claim that the move is illegal and will lead to unemployment and economic hardship for the people of Shangla. The protesters, including former Senator Maulana Rahat Hussain and labor leaders, demanded that the government provide alternative industries and employment opportunities in the area. They also criticized the government’s decision to impose taxes on minerals, stating that it is a violation of the rights of the people of Shangla. The protest was held at the Shangla Press Club, where speakers denounced the government’s decision and demanded that it be reversed.
