QUETTA: The Professor of University of Balochistan, Tatra Achakzakzai has demanded of the federal government to provide special grant to the University to steer it out of the financial crisis.
She also urged the concerned authorities to sit together and find out the permanent solution to the issue.
Professor Tatra Achakzai said that the employees of the university would raise voice for their rights at every forum.
Professor Tatra Achakzai said that the financial crisis of the universities was created after these were given under control of the provincial government after the 18th amendment.
While provincial higher education commissions have been formed in other three provinces, but the same couldn’t be set up in Balochistan, she pointed out adding this issue wouldn’t be created if the desired funds are provided to the University.
She pointed out that the government has allocated Rs. 2.5 billion for 12 universities of the province while total annual expenditures of the university are more than Rs. 3.5 billion.
She asked the incumbent government to take the issue of employees serious and pay salaries to them.
She also said that the financial crisis of the university is a pre-planned conspiracy to deprive the poor people of the province of education.
