Process of procurement of wheat due to start from May 21 in Balochistan, says DG Food

QUETTA: The process of procurement of wheat is due to start on May 21 in Balochistan.
This was informed by the Director General Food Department, Zafarullah to media here the other day,
According to the DG Food, the Food Department would purchase some 500,000 bags of wheat from the growers all over the province.
The DG Food said that at the moment, the stock of 7,75,000 bags of wheat in the godowns of food department.
These bags of wheat are preserved in the godowns located in Quetta, Pishin, Mastung and Khuzdar.
According to the DG Food, no stock of expired wheat is available in the food godowns of the province.
It may be mentioned here that a high level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti had approved to procure wheat from growers in the province.
The meeting had also approved funds for procurement of the wheat in the province.
