Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Condemns August 5 as the Darkest Day in Kashmiri History

Muzaffarabad (Ind.Kashmir desk), August 4, 2024
Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has issued a special message on the occasion of August 5, known as Exploitation Day. In his message, he condemned August 5, 2019, as the darkest day in the history of Kashmiris. On this day, the extremist government of India, in blatant violation of United Nations resolutions, unconstitutionally revoked Articles 370 and 35A, stripping the occupied Jammu and Kashmir of its special status. This act of constitutional aggression aimed to alter the demography of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by turning its Muslim majority into a minority.

Following this unconstitutional action, the extremist Modi government began issuing domiciles to extremist Hindus and former military personnel, initiating their settlement in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, the region has been turned into the world’s largest prison.

Prime Minister Haq emphasized that this deliberate demographic change violates international laws and human rights, urging the international community to take immediate and effective action against these measures. He reiterated the unwavering support of Pakistan and the people of Azad Kashmir for the oppressed Kashmiris, stressing the need for continued resistance against these unjust actions.

The Prime Minister’s message serves as a call to action, reminding the world of the ongoing struggles of the Kashmiri people and the need for solidarity and support in their fight for justice and self-determination
