Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has announced the restoration of free medical treatment through Health Cards for all residents of the state. Prime minister Haq made this announcement while responding to opposition leader Khawaja Farooq’s question during the Legislative Assembly session here today.The PM said that the health card facility would be restored while staying within the budget. ” Providing health facilities to the people is the first and foremost priority of the government”, the PM said. He, however, maintained that only entitled ones would be able to benefit from this facility.Responding to a call attention notice of former PM Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi, the incumbent prime minister said that healthcare staffing shortage would be addressed on a priority basis. “Shortage of doctors and medical staff in all hospitals and BHUs located on the LoC will be overcome very soon”, the PM said.He said that steps were being taken to improve the health department. To overcome the shortage of doctors in the region, the PM said that the government has also abolished the condition of state subject. He said that the government was ready to pay the highest salaries to doctors.
