PRICE CONTROL: QUETTA ADMINISTRATION FIXES NEW RATES FOR ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

In a bid to control prices and ensure the availability of essential commodities at affordable rates, the Quetta district administration has fixed new prices for various food items. A meeting of the District Price Control Committee, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Lieutenant (Retd) Saad bin Asad, determined the prices of meat, chicken, milk, bread, yogurt, ghee, pulses, rice, and other essential commodities.

The new prices, effective from today, include mutton at Rs. 1900, beef at Rs. 1050, high-quality rice at Rs. 290, and broken rice at Rs. 180. The administration has also fixed the price of sugar and other essential commodities.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Industries, Livestock, and Food Departments, as well as representatives from the Traders Association, Tandoor Association, Chamber of Commerce, Consumers, and Civil Society. The district administration has assured that the new prices will be strictly implemented to provide relief to the public.
