QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has stated that the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship has been approved in principle under the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF).
The Chief Minister said that the students desirous of doing scientific research from Balochistan would be able to do the Ph.Ds from top 20 universities of the world.
He directed to make more investment in the successful projects besides reviewing structure of the Balochistan Investment Committee.
The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting on the Endowment Welfare Fund here on Thursday.
The Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary and other concerned high ups participated in the meeting.
During the briefing, it was informed that 25 different endowment funds of Rs. 108 billion have been established in the province. The income of around Rs. 8 billion is generated through investment on these funds, it was added.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister directed to allocate more resources for welfare of minorities, women and under privileged segments of the society.
He pointed out that there are no issues of child labour in rural areas as compared to the urban ones.
Referring the out of school children in Balochistan, the Chief Minister directed to provide facilities to the out of school children to have access to the educational institutions.
He observed that majority of children are out of schools due to lack of facilities of transportation in the province.
He on the occasion directed to provide two to four buses to each union council of rural areas for transportation of the students in schools.
He also directed to ensure correct use of Endowment Fund for welfare of the fishermen in the province.
In addition to this, he also directed to present comprehensive recommendations and policies for ensuring correct use and increase in the endowment fund.
He on the occasion announced that the meeting would be held every month to review policies of the Endowment Welfare Fund
