QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has categorically stated that his government is determined to promote foreign investment in the province, and we have the capability to provide effective security and protection to the foreign investors.
He said that comprehensive plan has been formulated for security of the foreign projects in Balochistan.
The Chief Minister was speaking to the President and Chief Executive Officer of Barrick Gold Corporation, Mr. Mark Bristow, who called on him here at the CM’s secretariat on Thursday.
During the course of meeting, matters about mining and ongoing assistance projects were discussed.
Speaking to Mr. Mark Bristow, the Chief Minister said that bright future of Balochistan and Pakistan are linked with the international and national projects.
He also said that the steps are being taken for promotion of foreign investment in collaboration of the federal and provincial governments.
Referring the measures taken for security of the foreign investors and projects, the Chief Minister said that recruitments have been made in the Levies force for security of the foreign projects.
He on the occasion stressed the need to project and highlight the welfare works being done by the Barrick Gold Corporation.
He directed to the concerned to highlight the welfare projects through effective communication strategy.
He said that the living standard of people would be increased with completion of the welfare projects.
The President and CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation thanked the Chief Minister Balochistan and said that the Corporation would continue the process of public welfare initiatives under joint endeavours with the provincial government.
