*PRCS Provides Relief Supplies to Families in Badin Coastal Belt*
_Under the auspices of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), the successful distribution of relief supplies has been completed among 3,000 households affected by the recent cyclone along the coastal belt of Badin. In addition, 51-kilogram ration packages, essential household items were also provided to deserving families._
Karachi, [July 19, 2023] – Recognizing the potential risks posed by the recent cyclone in the coastal area of Badin, Pakistan Red Crescent Society carried out the distribution of relief packages among 3,000 families on Tuesday. These packages included rations, mosquito nets, plastic sheets, and kerosene lamps. The distribution ceremonies took place in Ahmed Raja village and Jamkhana, Badin.
The dry ration package, weighing 51 kilograms, consisted of essential food items such as wheat flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, lentils, tea, and spices.
The ceremonies were attended by Mr. Jehanzaib Baloch, Deputy Director Field of PRCS, along with Zulfiqar Ahmed, the focal person for response from National Headquarters, Abdus Sattar Memon, Sadiq Somro, Aftab Memon, and Tahir Kallhoro from PRCS Badin Branch.
Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari said that the Red Crescent has been in the service of flood victims and playing its fullest and effective role in relief operations. He said PRCS has fulfilled its commitment to providing assistance to the affected individuals. He emphasized that it is their responsibility to continue their work until all the affected people have recovered.
Furthermore, registrations have commenced for the distribution of ration packages in Sajawal and Omerkot. Dedicated volunteers of the Red Crescent are visiting households to provide coupons to eligible families. In Sajawal, 3,000 households will benefit from this relief assistance, while in Omerkot, 1,000 households will receive the much-needed support.
