QUETTA: The special anti-polio campaign is scheduled to be launched in 16 districts of the Balochistan province from July 1, 2024.
The Health department sources informed that it has been decided to launch anti-polio campaign in 16 districts of the province after new case of polio was reported from Killa Abdullah district of the province and presence of virus in the environmental samples in different parts of the province including Quetta.
The anti-polio campaign would be run in Loralai, Killa Saifullah, Killa Abdullah, Chaman, Musakhail, Usta Muhammad, Duki, Lasbela, Barkhan, Kalat, Shirani, Naseerabad, Zhob, Sibi, Mastung and Sanjavi Tehsil of Ziarat.
The necessary arrangements are being made for the special anti-polio campaign to be launched in the specific districts of the province.
It may be mentioned here that five cases of polio have been reported in Balochistan during this year. Two of the polio cases were reported from Killa Abdullah with one each from Quetta, Chaman and Dera Bugti.
