PM’S CLIMATE ADVISOR URGES UNITY ON CLIMATE ACTION

Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, stressed the need for Pakistan Climate Change Authority (PCCA) to facilitate cooperation among federal and provincial government departments to achieve climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and carbon reduction goals.

Chairing PCCA’s second meeting, Alam emphasized advancing Pakistan’s long-term sustainable initiatives to tackle climate impacts on agriculture, water, energy, and other sectors.

“Pakistan must enhance its climate resilience and sustainability efforts to ensure various social and economic sectors are better equipped to tackle current and future climate impacts,” Alam said.

Alam highlighted the urgency of addressing climate change, emphasizing the Authority’s role in promoting interdepartmental collaboration and coordination.

“The PCCA must play a pivotal role in fostering unity among stakeholders to combat climate change,” Alam added.

The meeting aimed to strengthen Pakistan’s climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
