ISLAMABAD – Iran Ambassador in Islamabad H.E Reza Amiri Moghaddam has said that people residing in Palestinian territory of Gaza are facing worst kind of humanitarian crisis, emphasizing that the stance taken by Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard is based on principles. He made these remarks while addressing an Iftar dinner ceremony hosted in honor of Pakistani media persons at the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran here in Islamabad. “In the current situation of the world, the Israeli regime, denies peace and friendship and it has committed genocide and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip,” the Ambassador stated, adding that “more than one hundred thousand innocent children, women and men have been martyred or injured, and the buildings and infrastructures of the Palestinian people ruined.”According to him, Islamic Republic of Iran is always in favor of promoting cordial bilateral relations with all neighbouring countries, including Pakistan. Significant progress can be witness in several areas of mutual cooperation, particularly in culture, energy and media. He further emphasized while talking with The independent, that propaganda machinery is currently very much active to create doubts and misunderstanding between both brotherly countries.
He also expressed special gratitude to Pakistani media for showing professionalism and reporting with responsibility at the time of unfortunate border tension that happened two months ago. “At the onset, we pay tribute to the [Pakistani] journalists that sacrificed their precious life in engaging their career to promote justice, truth, peace and love round the world,” the Ambassador acknowledged, concluding his address with the popular slogan ‘Long live Iran-Pakistan friendship’ that was responded by the audience with zeal and fervour.
