People associated with agriculture sector to get relief with solarization of over 27,000 tube wells; subsidy of billions of rupees to be saved, CM

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has stated that the people associated with the agriculture sector would get relief and billions of rupees of the subsidy would be saved with the project of solarization of agricultural tube wells in province.
The resources to be saved from the solarization could also be spent on other projects of public welfare.
The Chief Minister was speaking on occasion of the ceremony of agreement of solarization between provincial and federal governments here in Quetta on Monday.
The Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Governor Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail, federal and provincial ministers and other government functionaries were also present.
The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister and federal government for their cooperation in project of conversion of the agricultural tube wells on solar energy in the province.
He said that the zamindars of province suffering from the issues of electricity would get abrupt relief thanks to the project.
He pointed out that two important development projects of Balochistan have been dropped from the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
He expressed the hope that these projects of public interest would be made part of new financial year’s budget.
He said that climate change in Balochistan is a serious issue. The steps are being taken to tackle the issue,however, there is a need to include the province in decision and policy making at the federal level.
The Chief Minister particularly thanked the Prime Minister on extending assistance to the provincial government in solarization project and described it an important milestone for development of agriculture sector.
He also appreciated the project of establishment of Danish Schools in the province and urged the federal government to expand the circle of these schools.
The Prime Minister on the occasion appreciated the endeavours of Chief Minister and remarked that the leadership like of Mir Sarfraz Bugti is leading the provincial government. He said that the solarization is very important through which the issues of farmers and zamindars would be resolved saving billions of rupees on account of the subsidy.
