Pakistan Marks International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with Renewed Commitment

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with a series of events, including a floral wreath-laying ceremony at the ANF Martyrs’ Memorial, a cycle rally, and an awareness walk at Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad. The events aimed to raise awareness about the challenges of drug addiction and smuggling, and to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to combating the menace. The awareness walk was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Secretary of the Interior, Captain (Retired) Muhammad Khurram Agha, DG ANF Major General Abdul Majeed, and representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control have issued special instructions to all relevant departments to combat drug trafficking.
