Federal Minister for Trade, Jam Kamal Khan, has assured that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari, is working tirelessly to stabilize Pakistan’s economy and develop Balochistan.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Hub River Bridge, Jam Kamal highlighted the government’s focus on improving infrastructure in Balochistan. He praised the National Highway Authority (NHA) for completing the bridge project within two years.
“The government is committed to socio-economic development in Balochistan, creating job opportunities and improving living standards,” Jam Kamal emphasized. “The Quetta-Karachi highway will be dualized to boost industrial trade, while the federal government will invest in infrastructure development.”
Jam Kamal noted that Balochistan’s rich mineral resources will be harnessed to benefit the region. “The government will exploit these resources to create wealth and prosperity for the people of Balochistan,” he added.
The federal minister acknowledged the challenges faced by the province but expressed optimism about the future. “With collaborative efforts from federal and provincial governments, along with allied parties, we will address Balochistan’s development challenges,” he said.
Chairman NHA, Shahryar Sultan, highlighted the authority’s achievements in completing the Hub River Bridge project. “NHA’s team worked diligently to complete the project within two years, ensuring quality and timely delivery,” he said.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including President Asif Ali Zardari’s Advisor on Balochistan, Mir Ali Hasan Zehri, Deputy Commissioner Hub, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hub, members of the Civil Society, Lawyers’ Association, Pakistan People’s Party leaders, Wadera Amin Muri, and others.
The completion of the Hub River Bridge and ongoing infrastructure projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and facilitating trade in Balochistan. This infrastructure boost is expected to enhance connectivity between Quetta and Karachi, boost industrial trade and economic growth, create job opportunities for locals, and improve living standards in the region.
