On the directives of Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan Coast Guards have launched a crackdown on smuggling operations in the country. In a major operation, the coast guards seized 1,140 kg of chaalia (a type of drug) and 255 packets of gutka (a type of chewing tobacco) from a Japan-bound coach near Quetta. Additionally, 12,800 liters of Iranian diesel was recovered from a coach at the Khari Check Post, and 13 illegal immigrants were arrested from the Gawadar area.
All the arrested individuals have been handed over to the FIA authorities for further investigation and legal action. The Pakistan Coast Guards have vowed to continue their zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and to take action against the mafias involved in such activities.
This operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence gathered by the Pakistan Coast Guards, and it is a significant blow to the smuggling syndicates operating in the country. The federal minister for interior and narcotics control, Mohsin Naqvi, has appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Coast Guards and has directed them to continue their operations against smuggling without any discrimination.
