Islamabad, Pakistan:_ In a significant development, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to discuss the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its second phase, CPEC 2.0.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of decisions made during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, with a focus on strategic cooperation and economic development.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the importance of CPEC 2.0, stating that there is complete consensus between the leadership of China and Pakistan on the project’s next phase. He highlighted that his recent visit to China was a follow-up to the Prime Minister’s visit and discussed the strategy for implementing the decisions made during those meetings.
The Planning Minister also noted that world leaders and heads of state are visiting China to learn from its economic development model and open market policies. He underscored that Pakistan has already benefited significantly from CPEC and is the largest beneficiary of China’s modern economic model and open market.
This development is seen as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen Pakistan-China relations and advance economic cooperation between the two nations.
