RAWALPINDI, PAKISTAN – AUGUST 28 (Independent Desk) – Pakistan and Oman have pledged to strengthen their strategic ties and enhance military cooperation. This commitment was made during the official visit of General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC), to Oman.
According to an ISPR press release, General Mirza met with high-ranking officials, including His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and General Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Namani, Minister of the Royal Office.
In separate meetings, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on military cooperation, encompassing training, security, counter-terrorism, defence industry, and regional security environment. The talks underscored the commonality of views to expand military-to-military relations and forge deeper strategic ties.
The Omani dignitaries expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan. The visit marks a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Oman.”
