Pak Railways decide upgradation of Quetta-Taftan Rail Section

QUETTA: The Pakistan Railways has decided to upgrade the Quetta-Taftan railway section in due course of time.
According to the sources of Pakistan Railways, the tenders have been called from the national and international companies for upgradation of the 638-kilometer-long Quetta-Taftan railway section.
The PR authorities told that the tenders for the work would be opened on October 22, 2024.
It has been learnt through the sources that the Quetta-Taftan railway track would be upgraded and developed at the international standard.
The authorities said that the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul transit train would be restored after upgradation of the Quetta-Taftan railway track.
It may be recalled here that the train was launched on 14 August 2009 on trial basis. It was an important project of Economic Cooperation Organization.
