Pak has bright prospects of development in blue economy thanks to 700-KM long Balochistan coast, insists Governor

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has stated that sea coast of the province is rich in natural resources besides having the only port of deep waters. He said that there are bright prospects of development in blue economy, which otherwise lack in most of countries of the world.
The Governor was speaking to the Vice Chancellor of University of Gwadar, Professor Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir, who called on him here at the Governor’s House the other day.
Malik Abdul Wali Kakar believed that all economic hardships can be resolved by putting the blue economy in Balochistan on modern lines.
However, it is our unfortunate that we couldn’t benefit from 700 kilometers long coastal belt.
The Governor said Gwadar can provide economic and trade benefits for different continents even today. Besides, it can also become major source of income for the province and country, the Governor maintained.
He appreciated the performance of Vice Chancellor of the Gwadar University, Professor Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir and his team and directed to expand further the learning opportunities to the local people.
He stressed that heavy responsibilities rest with the University of Gwadar in view of changes taking place in economic and trade sectors in near future.
