Gilgit.15,October 2024:The Planning and Development Department of Gilgit-Baltistan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Karakoram International University (KIU) to bring about digital transformation and automation of development works in the region. This agreement aims to improve service delivery in various government departments through modern digital technology and enhance transparency and accountability.The MoU signing ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Vice Chancellor of KIU, Dr. Attaullah Shah, Chief Secretary Abrar Mirza and the Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary of Planning and Development, Captain Retired Mushtaq Ahmed. The ceremony was also attended by stakeholders from various government departments, KIU departments, and technical experts.Key Objectives of the MoU is to Improvement of Services for Enhance service delivery in government departments through digital technology,Automate development processes for efficient and transparent governance,Strengthening,transparency and accountability in government functioning.Through this MoU Twelve modules will be completed within 12 months.An additional year will be dedicated to improving and developing the system.
This collaboration is part of the government’s reforms implemented last year, overseen by the Chief Secretary through the Project Management Reforms Unit.
