QUETTA: The leader of Opposition and other members of the provincial assembly lambasted the provincial government over law and order situation in the session of provincial assembly here on Tuesday.
The Speaker Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai was in the chair.
In start of the session, the leader of Opposition, Mir Younas Aziz Zehri raised the point of order urging the chair to cancel the routine agenda of the session and speak on the law and order issue because of the prevailing law and order situation in the province.
However, the Provincial Minister, Mir Saleem Khosa objected to it saying that as the Chief Minister is not in the House, so defer the debate on law and order some other day.
On that, the members from Opposition and Treasury benches exchange hot words.
The member of provincial assembly belonging to National Party, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch pointed out that a worker of his party (NP) was murdered in Bhag, and maintained that the government has failed to maintain law and order situation in the province.
The Speaker on the occasion also insisted that the debate on law and order may be held tomorrow or day after tomorrow, we would call the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police then.
He insisted that the presence of Chief Minister and other responsible officials is necessary on the issue.
The Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani said that we are also pained over the kidnapping of the child from Quetta. However, the Chief Minister has gone to Islamabad for an important meeting, we would hold detailed discussion once he returns from there.
The leader of Opposition on the occasion said that the law and order situation has been deteriorated in the province while on the other hand, the police is impounding the kabuli vehicles.
He said that the steps are not being taken for law and order situation. He alleged that the law and order situation was disturbed due to closure of the borders of province.
He stressed that let’s sit together and prepare a course of action on the issue.
