Ombudsman Punjab mediates for Payment of Rs.9.3 Million to 42 sanitary workers

Ombudsman Punjab Maj (r) Azam Suleman Khan has intervened to ensure that 42 sanitary workers (janitorial staff) of DHQ Hospital Jhelum received over Rs.9.3 million in outstanding salaries.

In a statement released today, a spokesperson revealed that 42 sanitary workers at DHQ Hospital Jhelum approached the ombudsman’s office with a request to release their five months’ salaries. Taking notice of the situation, Ombudsman Punjab directed the director project management unit, primary and secondary healthcare Lahore/medical superintendent DHQ hospital to resolve the matter and submit a report to his office.

As a result of the intervention of the ombudsman’s office, a legal relief exceeding Rs.9.3 million has been extended to the 42 sanitary workers who have thanked the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for its effective role in addressing their complaint.
