QUETTA: The nomination papers of 1,941 candidates have been accepted for the general elections in Balochistan province after completion of the process of scrutiny.
According to the sources of Election Commission of Pakistan, a total of 2,419 candidates had filed their nomination papers for the elections on different seats of provincial and National Assemblies from the province.
However, the papers of 479 candidates were rejected.
In all 612 male and 19 female candidates filed papers for 16 seats of the National Assembly.
At the outset, papers of 539 out of total 631 candidates were accepted.
Moreover, the nomination papers of 1363 male candidates and 39 female candidates were accepted while papers of 386 candidates were rejected.
