No Action Against Corrupt FIA Peshawar Officers.

By M.Ilyas
PESHAWAR- FIA KP zone Peshawar has emerged as a hotbed of corruption, where brazen solicitation of bribes permeates various inquiries related to money laundering, human trafficking, and anti-corruption operations. Alarming reports from public and social circles in Peshawar allege that a deputy director, deputed from NAB to the FIA Peshawar office, has amassed billions of rupees during his tenure and continues to orchestrate corrupt activities with impunity. Military Intelligence’s recent intervention led to the apprehension of FIA officers and agents allegedly complicit in money laundering and human trafficking in Peshawar. Shockingly, they are accused of facilitating monthly payments to the incumbent FIA director. Speaking anonymously, a senior FIA Peshawar official corroborated claims of the director’s deep involvement in corruption and the blatant disregard for merit-based practices within the organization. Reports suggest that the FIA’s involvement in corrupt practices amounts to staggering figures, ranging from fifty to one billion rupees every month. Despite the glaring evidence of corruption, the new Director General of FIA appears to have aligned himself with the tainted officials, further exacerbating the situation. Public and social circles in Peshawar are vehemently demanding action from the highest authorities including the Prime Minister, Federal Interior Minister, Interior Secretary, and Chief of Army Staff to address the pervasive corruption within the FIA Peshawar office. The call for action includes the removal of the director, additional director, and deputy directors who are accused of accumulating illicit assets worth billions of rupees. The incumbent director’s influence extends to thwarting administrative processes, as evidenced by his successful intervention to block the appointment of Mr. Pervaz Umrani as the new Director KP, by leveraging substantial sums. The outcry against corruption within the FIA KP Zone underscores the urgent need for comprehensive reform and accountability measures to restore public trust and ensure the integrity of law enforcement agencies in Peshawar and beyond.
