Necessary steps started for prevention of dengue in Gwadar, Kech & Hub

QUETTA: The necessary measures have been started for prevention and spread of dengue disease in Gwadar, Kech and Hub districts.
This was informed in a meeting attended by the Director General Health, Dr. Farooq Hoth, Provincial coordinator of WHO, Dr. Asfandyar Shirani, Director Public Health, Dr. Fahim Khan, Provincial Coordinator Vector borne diseases and Malaria control Programme, Dr. Aamir Raisani, Director Admin Balochistan Health Card Programme, Dr. Ahmed Wali , WHO consultant, Dr. Baseer Ahmed and other concerned high ups. DHOs of Kech, Gwadar and Hub participated in the meeting through video link.
The Coordinator Vector Borne diseases and Malaria Control Programme informed the meeting that steps are being taken for prevention of the dengue in Gwadar, Kech and Hub.
The related activities have been started to eradicate the dengue larva in the districts.
The fogging process has also been started for prevention of the dengue mosquitoes through Health department and municipal corporation, it was informed further.
In addition to this, social mobilization would also be made for creating much needed awareness for prevention and eradication of the dengue virus in all the vulnerable areas.
Moreover, the Deputy Commissioners of districts Kech, Hub and Gwadar would also hold meetings with the religious leaders and civil society. During the meetings and interaction, their role would be sought for prevention and protection from the dengue virus.
