QUETTA: The Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Sharifullah has stated that the polling for election on the reserved seats of district councils in 35 districts of the province is scheduled to be conducted on June 22, 2023.
In an official statement issued here on Tuesday, the Provincial Election Commissioner said that all the necessary arrangements have been made for the polling on reserved seats of the district councils.
He said that the process of supply of ballot papers has been completed for the polling.
The PEC said that a total of 1001 nominations papers were submitted on all the reserved seats of women, peasants, workers and non-Muslims.
In all 522 nomination papers were filed for 289 seats of women while 190 papers were filed for 47 seats of the peasants, 196 papers were submitted for even number of 47 seats. Altogether 93 nomination papers have been submitted for 47 seats reserved for non-Muslims in the district councils.
According to Sharifullah, the candidates contesting elections in Chaman, Harnai, Jhal Magsi and Awaran districts were elected unopposed.
