Gwadar, August 27 – A delegation of the National Party, led by Provincial Fisheries Secretary Adam Qadurbakhsh, met with Director General Fisheries Balochistan Imran Bangulzai. The delegation included senior National Party leaders Mujeeb Abdullah Abdul Qadir Baloch and Omar Kalanchi.
The delegation apprised the Director General of the issues faced by fishermen, stating that with the start of the season, trawlers from Sindh have entered the Balochistan sea, causing damage to marine life and threatening the livelihoods of local fishermen. They demanded increased patrols, arrest of illegal trawlers, and establishment of new fisheries stations in various areas to prevent illegal fishing.
The delegation emphasized that 90% of the local population’s livelihood depends on fishing, and they will not allow anyone to destroy their livelihoods and make them dependent on charity. The Director General assured the delegation of his cooperation in addressing their concerns.
