QUETTA: The nomination papers of President of Balochistan National Party(BNP) and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Qasim Suri were rejected by the respective Returning Officers on Saturday.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Qasim Suri had filed their nomination papers for NA-263 and NA-264 respectively.
According to the Returning Officer, Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s papers were rejected on the basis of Aqama of United Arab of Emirates (UAE), he is allegedly having.
On the other hand, nomination papers of Qasim Suri were rejected on being defaulter, absconder and blockage of National Identity Card.
It may be mentioned here that Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Qasim Suri were elected as Members of National Assembly in the general elections of 2018.
Meanwhile, papers of 34 candidates were accepted on the NA-264.
The papers of Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Maulana Abdul Qadir Luni, Naseemur Rehman Khan, Sardar Atif Sanjrani, Rozi Khan Kakar, Asghar Khan Achakzai, Muhammad Ismail Gujjar and Arbab Liaquat were also accepted.
However, Prince Umar Ahmedzai and Mir Khalid Langove were also rejected as they had filed papers from NA-264.
