Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police Salman Chaudhary said that Government of Pakistan underscores the value the exceptional bravery and commitment of Sub Inspector Zulfiqar Ali toward his duties.  IG, NHMP said that the Government of Pakistan has honored National Highways and Motorway Sub Inspector with this prestigious award.

  His bravery and courage have been acknowledged at the national level. Sub Inspector Zulfiqar Ali was performing his duty on Motorway M-5. While taking action against overloaded vehicles, meanwhile an overloaded truck driver resisted and ran over Patrol Officer, resulting in the loss of both of his legs.  Inspector General Salman Chaudhary’s acknowledgment of Zulfiqar Ali’s bravery and his reference to him as a valuable asset and role model reflects the esteem in which he is held within the force.

The incident, in which Zulfiqar Ali lost both his legs while taking action against an overloaded truck on Motorway M-5, illustrates the risks that officers take daily to ensure the safety of the commuters  on National Highways. This recognition not only honors his sacrifice but also serves to inspire other officers in the NHMP
