MORE PUBLIC COMPLAINTS AGAINST GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS RESOLVED ON THE ORDERS OF THE PROVINCIAL OMBUDSMAN SINDH
Karachi, November 27, In a complaint filed with the office of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, a resident of Orangi Town, Ms. Najma Ara, had alleged that in collusion with Sub-Inspector Surjani Town Police Station Chaudhry Afzal, the land grabbers had occupied her plot L-65 located in Surjani Town Sector 4-B, while despite the complaint, her problem was not being resolved. Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Mohammad Sohail Rajput, while taking notice of the complaint of the petitioner, summoned SHO Surjani Town to obtain information about the matter and directed for immediate resolution of the matter. After which the petitioner’s plot was recovered. On the other hand, the complaint filed by Mohammad Iqbal Nini, a resident of Gulbai Karachi, against the accumulation of sewage water in his plot number S-101 in the site area was also resolved.
The applicant Mohammad Iqbal had taken the stand in the application that due to the blockage of the storm water drain, sewage water is continuously accumulating on his plot, which is also damaging the foundations of his factory, while the concerned institution is also not taking any action. On the instructions of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Mohammad Sohail Rajput, State Engineer (B&R) Sindh Industrial Trading Estate along with a team from the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board inspected the relevant place and cleared the drain by removing the encroachments established on the drain with RCC storm water structure by the encroachment mafia.
Qamar Zaman, a resident of Gulshan-e-Ruhi Rafa-e-Aam, had filed a complaint with the Sindh Provincial Ombudsman against Maple Grammar School Malir in view of his poor financial situation. He said that he has a small business while his wife is suffering from thyroid cancer, due to which his financial situation is worsen. Therefore, he had contacted the relevant school administration under the policy of the Education Department for a 10 percent full free-ship scheme for children of poor people studying in private schools, but the school administration had rejected his request, while no action was being taken on the application submitted to the Director Registration of Private Institutions Sindh as well.
The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Mohammad Sohail Rajput, while taking notice of the delay in the matter, ordered the relevant department to resolve the issue immediately. Later, the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh informed the Sindh Provincial Ombudsman during the hearing that the school had provided full free-ship to both the children of the applicant under the policy of the Sindh Education Department; therefore, the applicant’s problem has been resolved. All the stakeholders have expressed their gratitude to the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh for resolving the public complaints filed against government departments.
