QUETTA: The Health Department of Balochistan has decided to enforce modular system in all public sector medical colleges operating in the province.
The decision to this effect was made unanimously in a meeting chaired by the Secretary Health, Abdullah Khan here on Tuesday.
The meeting attended by the Vice Chancellor of Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta, Professor Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, Principal , Bolan Medical College, Professor Dr Raz Muhammad Kakar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ilyas Baloch, Director General Health, Dr Farooq Hoth, Principal Loralai Medical College, Professor Dr Bashirullah and heads of all departments of medical education discussed about the modular system in the public sector medical colleges in the province.
It was mentioned that the objective behind introducing modular system is to improve the standard of medical education in the province.
It was decided to start the modular system in the medical colleges by April 22.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Health said that the modular system of medical education is gaining popularity in the medical universities all over the world.
The Secretary Health said that the Bolan Medical University would provide guiding principles for enforcement of the modular system in the medical colleges.
