(Independent Report) Quetta:july. 13.The Government of Balochistan has decided to suspend mobile phone and internet services in Quetta on 7th and 10th Muharram, and in Kachhi, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, and Usta Muhammad on 9th and 10th Muharram, in view of the sensitive situation during Muharram.
According to the Home Department, all arrangements have been completed in Quetta and other districts of Balochistan to maintain law and order during Muharram. Mobile phone and internet services will remain suspended in Quetta from 6 am to 12 pm on 7th and 10th Muharram, while mobile services will be suspended in Kachhi, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, and Usta Muhammad on 9th and 10th Muharram.
The Home Department has also announced that more than 18,000 personnel will be deployed in Quetta on Ashura, with 5 platoons of the Pakistan Army on standby. Two helicopters will also be deployed for aerial surveillance of processions on 7th, 9th, and 10th Muharram. The department has also imposed a ban on pillion riding on motorcycles in 7 districts of the province from 1st to 10th Muharram under Section 144.
