COLON CANCER RATE IS GRADUALLY INCREASING IN PAKISTAN.

 

THERE SHOULD BE A NATIONAL LEVEL REGISTRY OF COLON CANCER CASES.

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram participated as a special guest in the seminar organized by King Edward Medical University’s Oncology Department on the subject of colon cancer. The organizer of the event was Dr. Abbas Khokhar, Head of Oncology Department. Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz, Prof. Zeba Aziz, Prof. Asghar Naqi, Prof. Abrar Ashraf Ali, Prof. Adil Iqbal, Prof. Shandana Tariq, Prof. Amir Afzal, Prof. Israr ul Haq Toor, Dr. Rab Nawaz Makan, Dr. Sadia, Dr. Saif ur Rahman and others participated.vThe guest of honor of the seminar was President CPSP Vice Chancellor FJMU Professor Khalid Masood Gondal.

 

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram said that colon cancer rate is gradually increasing in Pakistan. Doctoring is a prophetic profession, we have to fulfill the prayers of patients by serving them. There should be a registry at the national level regarding colon cancer disease. The Punjab government will fully cooperate with you in this regard.

 

He further said that screening is fundamental in the early diagnosis of cancer. I congratulate administration for organizing the awareness seminar.

 

Vice-Chancellor Professor Mahmood Ayaz informed the participants about the causes and treatment methods of colon cancer and gave a lecture to the participants on robotic surgery regarding this disease. Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayaz thanked his respected teacher Dr. Javed Akram for coming to the event and highly appreciated the efforts of Dr. Abbas Khokhar for organizing the seminar.

 

Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal said that in King Edward Medical University Credit goes to Professor Ayesha Shaukat of the Department of Breast Cancer. He said that the services of Dr. Abbas Khokhar in King Edward Medical University Medical Oncology are commendable. The organization of teaching activities in King Edward Medical University is commendable and the credit goes to Prof. Mahmood Ayaz.
