In a significant move to address the city’s infrastructure challenges, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab visited Essa Nagri, a densely populated slum, to review the ongoing water and sewerage improvement efforts. The visit underscores the city’s commitment to enhancing the lives of its residents, particularly in underprivileged communities.
The Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP) is spearheading the rehabilitation work in Essa Nagri, aiming to alleviate the severe water, sanitation, and hygiene issues faced by the residents. Local government officials, representatives from the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), NESPAK, community leaders, philanthropists, activists, journalists, and a large number of area residents attended the event.
During the visit, Mayor Murtaza Wahab assessed the progress of the project, interacting with the residents and stakeholders to ensure that the improvement efforts meet the community’s needs. This initiative marks a crucial step towards transforming the lives of Karachi’s most vulnerable populations.
