QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has stated that the constitution of Pakistan guarantees giving equal rights as well as religious freedom to all inhabitants of the country. It is also the Constitution which is guarantor of expression of opinion of all. Therefore, we have to work together to ensure equal rights for all citizens instead of representing any minority or majority.

This and similar other views were expressed by the Governor while speaking to a delegation, who called on him under leadership of National Minorities Commission, Sham Lal Lasi, here at the Governor House on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that we have learnt from our political elders that we don’t make friendship or enmity on the basis of colour, cast or creed.

He said that it gives him utmost pleasure that there are representatives of all minorities including Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Parsis, Kailash and others in the Minorities Commission.

He stressed the need to promote brotherhood, religious harmony, mutual respect and understanding among all in order to make the country and province hub of peace.

Meanwhile, speaking to a delegation of Pashto Academy who called on him under leadership of its President, Sohail Jaffar, the Governor said that it is duty of the research centers and literary academies to take concrete steps for preservation of the achievements and sacrifices of the otherwise neglected parts and personalities of the society.

He said that the world has turned into a global village and so we need to promote harmony and unity among different languages and civilizations.

We should also take benefit from the experiences and civilizations of the developed countries and learning international languages, adding he stressed.

The members of delegation apprised the Governor about the issues being faced by the Pashto Academy. They also sought the role of Governor for increasing the grant for the Academy and land for its museum.
