The floods have also damaged the gas pipeline, leaving Machh city without gas supply. The restoration work has not started yet due to the ongoing floods. However, a 12-inch pipeline has been restored to supply gas to Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.
The affected areas include Smallani Colony, Mach Geshtri, Bodil, Ab Gumbaz, Jamia Khan, Kolpur, Dozan, Hirak, and several other villages. The residents are without shelter and aid.
The Machh Bridge is also on the verge of collapse due to the floods, posing a threat to the lives of people. The coal business has also been affected, leaving thousands of laborers without work.
The Suigas Southern Gas Officer, Talal Baloch, said that the restoration work on the gas pipeline will start once the water level in the river recedes. The repair work may take at least a week to complete.
