The 10-day Lok Mela festival at Shakarparian in Islamabad came to a close yesterday with a colorful award ceremony, graced by Federal Secretary for National Heritage and Culture as the guest of honor.¹
In his address, the Federal Secretary congratulated the Lok Virsa team on the successful organization of the mega event, which brought together artisans from across the country to showcase their craftsmanship in the federal capital.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening national institutions, highlighting that no nation can achieve progress in industry, science, and technology without valuing its cultural heritage.
Lok Virsa has rendered invaluable service to the nation by documenting, preserving, and promoting Pakistan’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
The Federal Secretary also stressed the importance of culture in fostering provincial unity, religious harmony, love, peace, and brotherhood among the people.
This year’s Lok Mela featured an array of attractions, including provincial pavilions, shopping opportunities, food vendors, and musical UN in performances. The event celebrated the “Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Lok Virsa”.
