Livestock sector can be improved further due to range of rain & hills in Balochistan, says Bakht Muhammad Kakar

QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development, Bakht Muhammad Kakar has stated that majority of the people depend on livestock and cattle breeding for livelihood in the province. He said that the livestock sector can be improved further due to the range of rains and hills.
Besides, the agricultural areas and green belt have great potential of cattle breeding and growth.
The Provincial Minister was addressing one-day seminar organized in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank and Government of Balochistan here on Wednesday.
He noted with pleasure that the Asian Development Bank is taking steps for improvement in the livestock sector.
The initiatives like provision of soft term loans, improvement of cattle breeding and prevention of diseases in animals are welcoming, the Minister maintained.
Those who were present on the occasion were included: Secretary Livestock, Muhammad Tayyab Lehri, Director General Livestock, Farooq Tareen, senior Natural Resources Specialist Asian development Bank besides a large number of people associated with livestock.
The representatives of Asian Development Bank and other experts also addressed the seminar and called for taking concerted measures to develop livestock sector in the province.
