LAHORE: The Leadership in Resuscitation Course, organized for 45 master trainers of the Pak Life Saver Program (PLSP) of the Service, concluded at the Emergency Services Academy (ESA) here on Saturday.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dr Rizwan Naseer, Secretary of the Emergency Services Department (ESD), congratulated the course participants on successfully completing their training. He mentioned that the course participants were now tasked with further training emergency responders in high-performance cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HP-CPR) to provide quality CPR to cardiac arrest patients. He directed them to provide scenarios to emergency responders, aiming to enhance their decision-making and critical thinking skills during emergencies, as learned in the Leadership in Resuscitation course. He also thanked to the management of Aga Khan University, Karachi, for organizing this course for master trainers and conducting evaluations of emergency medical technicians at the Emergency Services Academy.

Dr Rizwan highlighted the Prime Minister’s Pak Life Saver Program, aimed at training citizens in vital lifesaving skills such as CPR and bleeding control. Under this initiative, Rescue 1122 was designated as the National Focal Point to train the public extensively in life-saving techniques. As part of this effort, Rescue 1122 developed the Pak Lifesaver App and web portal for online training, supplemented by practical sessions at nearby Rescue stations.
