LARGE INFLUX OF RAINWATER ENTERS SINDH: MINISTER IRRIGATION JAM KHAN SHORO

Karachi 30 August: Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department, Jam Khan Shoro accompanied by Secretary Irrigation, Zarif Khiero has today visited the Sindh-Balochistan border areas including Manchar Lake and MNV Drain to assess flood like situation and oversee mitigation efforts.

 

During the visit, the Provincial Minister for Irrigation department inspected the MNV Drain and received a comprehensive briefing from Chief Engineer Mukhtiar Abro and other staff on the current situation. He also visited the Kachho area of New Gaj, Dadu and Khasbo, along with New Gaj areas.

On this occasion, Minister Jam Khan Shoro confirmed that, amidst heavy rains, a massive influx of water from Balochistan is flowing into Sindh. He assured that the Sindh Irrigation Department is fully prepared and vigilant to face any emergency situation, with personnel closely monitoring the situation at various dams and waterways to ensure public safety and prevent potential disasters.
