CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana addressed a press conference at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh to clarify the alleged assault on a student at a private college. The incident, which went viral on social media, was deemed fake after thorough investigations.
CCPO Kamyana stated that Lahore police took immediate action, interrogating the implicated security guard from Sargodha. The police thoroughly checked the 12-hour long CCTV footage from the college, finding no evidence of the alleged incident.
Students whose videos had circulated on social media were also questioned, and inquiries were made at all local hospitals to check for relevant patients, but no evidence was found anywhere.
The CCPO announced the arrest of 24 individuals for damaging public property, with FIRs registered against them. Further FIRs are being filed against additional individuals.
This swift response demonstrates the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the city.
